Homemade Nutter Butter Cookies
Homemade Nutter Butter Cookies
What's your favorite store bought cookie? I'm totally NUTS for nutter butters. These funny peanut shaped cookies have always been my favorite. I think it's because they combine the tastiness of a peanut butter cookie with the sandwich style of an OREO.
I've wanted to make these myself for a while now and thought and easy to follow video would serve as many as possible.
Homemade Nutter Butter Cookie Recipe
I used this easy recipe from Kitchen Belleicious for my homemade nutter butters, but divided the batch in half. If I make a full batch of nutter butters, I'm going to eat that full batch and that helps no one!
Serve these homemade nutter butter cookies with a glass of cold milk, a napkin and a friend for a chat!

- 1/2 c crunchy peanut butter
- 2 c powdered sugar
- 2-3 TBS milk

In a bowl with mixer, combine butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy, approximately 1 minute.Add eggs and vanilla and mix for another 3 seconds.Whisk together flour, baking soda and baking powder in a bowl.Slowly add flour to mixture. When dough is combined refrigerate for one hour. This is critical!
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Once dough is cooled, roll into 2" logs and press flat on cookie sheet. Use a fork to create pattern and pinch the middle.Bake for 8 minutes. When cookies are RIGHT out of the oven use the handle of a fork to push middles back toward each other. (the baking process will spread them out a bit)Let cool on baking sheet for 3 minutes then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling. While the cookies are cooling make your filling by mixing butter, peanut butter, sugar and milk into filling. When cookies are totally cooled, spread filling on one cookie and top with the other.Enjoy!
