This is a super upcycled project to use up old ceramic tiles from past DIY home projects too.

I have at least three boxes of beautiful tiles lurking in my garage that I've held onto for just this purpose...I suppose! Not sure my husband agrees.

See how I do it below or read the step-by-step tutorial as well.

How To Easily Upcycle Holiday Cards Into Coasters and Trivets

To make your festive upcycled holiday card coasters and trivets start by setting up your work station.

Next, trace your tile onto the selected card and cut out the shape.

If you like, paint the side of your tile in a coordinating paint color and let this dry.

Thankfully, you can brush your Mod Podge or craft glue onto your tile while the paint dries.

Place your cut holiday card onto your tile.

Brush another layer of Mod Podge or craft glue onto your paper card and set aside to dry.

When your tile is completely dry, turn it over and glue small felt squares to each corner to protect any surface from a scratchy and rough tile.

Turn right side up and press down to secure the felt pieces.

Finally, in a VERY well ventilated space, preferably outdoors, spray or paint the top of your tile with a shellac to protect the surface from water that may weep from a glass with use.

Those are the very easy steps to making your own festive upcycled holiday card coasters and trivets.

I have an easy to follow video above to watch as you work as well.
