Giving Programs to Clothe + Feed Babies in Need
At Satsuma Designs we LOVE babies and we care about those who care for them. We support a number of Pacific Northwest area charities that care for the needs of babies and families including WestSide Baby, among others.
About the Food Driving Box program to Drive Away Hunger in the Northwest
Satsuma Designs’ Founder and Designer, Jennifer, created the Food Driving Box Program to support local food banks in the Pacific Northwest. Currently serving 27 Seattle area food banks through partners such as Solid Ground and the Seattle Food Committee, the Food Driving Box Program is a growing effort to drive away hunger in the Northwest.
The Food Driving Box program is an important way to support our neighbors in need. A Food Driving Box is a FREE 15”x 12”x 10” reusable, printed cardboard box (with convenient handles!) that lists all 27 Seattle Food Committee Member Food Banks, location and phone number as well as a scannable QR code used to locate the Food Banks for drop off hours. Food Driving Box users stow the box in their vehicle and use it to make more frequent food bank donations when it’s in eyesight and top of mind each time they grocery shop.
We launched the program in our own backyard, but would love to spread the love and help other communities get this type of program off the ground. If you would like help launching your own Food Driving Box Program in your neighborhood, simply drop us a line by email to satsuma (at) satsumadesigns.com and list Food Driving Box Program in your subject.
We’re delighted that our commercial efforts can support our charitable efforts and hope you’ll agree and help spread the word. Find the Food Driving Box on Facebook here to help.
Help Stop Domestic Violence + Support New Beginnings
Satsuma Designs is delighted to offer a gift set to help end domestic violence in our communities. Through our Seattle-based partner New Beginnings we are directing funds to help New Beginnings offer services and shelter to our most vulnerable women and families.
100% of profits (up to $15) of sales of our Neverblast Baby Hat and Baby Scratch Mitten Sets ($30) support New Beginnings. Choose from our black or white baby hat and baby scratch mitten sets that feature our important message about never blasting anyone in any form: verbal, physical or emotional. We're grateful for your help in supporting this important cause.
With recent news reports surrounding sports figures and domestic violence, we felt it was appropriate to create products (made in Seattle) that work to stamp out violence in any form or degree. Our Neverblast baby hats and scratch mittens are a healthy and thoughtful way to support curbing all domestic violence with a message of gentleness and peace. We support an end to domestic violence because we know that a safe and healthy mommy means safe and healthy kids.
Thank you for your support!
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
