Every lady needs her rest. Some call it beauty sleep, but next to air it's my sustaining force. I've grappled with my share of sleep deprivation with the help of  infants, toddlers, and the anxieties of life, but if there's one tool that's helped me the most it's my satiny eye mask that helps calm me into oblivion.

I wanted to share this tool with friends at a coming girls night and whipped up this easy diy embroidered eye mask that I hope you'll consider for your sleep routine. I scored these three at the dollar store added embroidery thread and in 10 minutes (maybe less!), I had a cute gift for my girls.

Here's what you'll need for your own diy embroidered eye mask:

  • Eye mask from the dollar store
  • Embroidery needle
  • Embroidery floss
  • scissors
  • pencil
Here's how you'll create your own diy embroidered eye mask: Start by threading your embroidery floss in the needle. Next lightly pencil out your design on your eye mask. Now start stitching. Begin by inserting your needle through the back. When your needle exits the front now start stitching between the two layers (front and back) so that you keep the back clean and stitch free, except for your starting knot, which you can do in the upper right where the heart is or whatever your design might be. To finish, knot in the back and cut your excess floss closely. Now, get to bed! If you want to help your little ones sleep soundly too, try Satsuma Designs' blankets for babies.
