You've Been Ghosted by PicMonkey

Have you been Ghosted this Halloween? I hope you have and are spreading the Halloween fun in your neighborhood. If you're not familiar with Ghosting, it's the sweet treat version of 'doorbell dash'. You create a little poem like the one shown below, gather some of kids' favorite Halloween candy and drop it on your neighbor's doorstep as you knock or ring and dash away. Our family has been coming up with hilariously elaborate get away plans, which is the most fun by far. There are still some nights left before Halloween to ghost your friends and neighbors and spread some love and sweet treats. It's easy to make your own Ghosting kids and here's how to create a unique Ghosting Poem using PicMonkey, my favorite photo editing and graphics website.

How to create your own You've Been Ghosted graphic with PicMonkey

  • Start by visiting PicMonkey.
  • Once there, click the Design icon in the top navigation, center. This will open a new document that you'll use to great your You've Been Ghosted icon.
  • Click on the Pumpkin (New) icon at the bottom left hand tools navigation. This will open the holiday Themes section. Scroll to the orange and black Trick or Treat Theme and click it.
  • Now scroll to Overlays, select Ghoulies. Click on the black ghost and size up to the height of your Design document (2000 px). To size, simply click on the ghost and drag your mouse to required size and release.
  • Now, go back to the tools at left and also in Overlays, select Spine Tinglers to add you Booo. Click on the Booo and position and size this graphic like you did with your ghost.
  • Now click at the bottom below Overlays under Text and add the following title You've Been Ghosted! in the font you like.
  • Click on the large Tt icon at left to add the poem below and size both title and poem to fit onto your ghost.
  • Now print and cut out or leave on a full sheet of paper. Pair with a few bites of candy and hit the neighborhood for some frightfully good fun!
To make the waxed paper ghost see here, add 2-3 small piece of candy to the bottom corner of a wax paper bag and secure with a 3" bit of black pipe cleaner. Add a face with a black Sharpie and you're done! Happy Halloween! how to ghost for halloween                                       Ghosting Poem You've Been Ghosted! Late last night, we left you a treat. The tradition is fun, one we hope you'll repeat. Take the ghost and pin it on your door, to let others know, you need ghosted no more. Now it's your duty to pass on the surprise, to two more families, we must advise. Gather some treats and deliver them soon, within two nights, under the light of the moon. Include a ghost with each package you give, along with this poem for the tradition to live.
