Donate Halloween Candy to our Military Servicemembers at Satsuma Kids Shop
Does the prospect of the sugar highs and lows facing your family this Halloween have you spooked? Me too! You may be familiar with dental office candy buy back programs, but I have another way to share the sugar and treat our troops at the same time.
For the past few years, we have sent our surplus candy to American Servicemen and Servicewomen through Operation Gratitude.
This year at Satsuma Kids Shop, we'll be collecting candy to send to our troops. Until Wednesday, 11/8, we'll be gathering candy to pack and ship to Operation Gratitude in California where they will then distribute to troops in the US and overseas.
As we enter November and celebrate Veterans Day on November 11th, it's the perfect time to show our appreciation to American Armed Servicemen and Servicewomen. It's easy to donate and I'm betting a welcome treat.

This year when you donate your Halloween candy, we'll weigh it and give you a discount in store to use that day at Satsuma Kids Shop. For example, if you bring in two pounds of candy, we'll add a ZERO to the TWO for a 20% discount on your entire purchase. No exclusions!
Donate Candy at Satsuma Kids Shop
Drop by any time Monday through Friday from 10a to 5:30p or Saturday 10a to 4p at our Wedgwood location at 8511 35th AVE NE, Seattle, WA 98115.
We will have note paper, pens and crayons on hand for your little goblins to write or color a thank you note to our Servicemembers that will accompany the candy to their final destination.
How to Get the Candy Away from your Little Ghouls
But how do you separate recent little Halloween ghouls from their hard earned candy? Here's what our family does with some success.
We conduct a draft for the kids to select their favorite 20 candies that they get to keep and we hold onto to distribute for consumption over the next couple of weeks.
The rest of the candy, and there is ample candy, goes directly to our Servicemen and Servicewomen.

If you're out of the Seattle area and would like to Donate Halloween Candy to our Troops, you'll need to fill out the form below, gather your Halloween candy and box it up.
Add a hand drawn note of thanks for their service and send it by mid-November to Operation Gratitude in Van Nuys, CA.
