A doula friend of mine reports that most of her clients' babies are born from January to March.
Regardless of the due date, it's always fun to have a signature baby shower gift up your sleeve, or in this case in the pantry.
Try this layette in a jar baby shower gift to delight mom-to-be and have everyone at the baby shower asking for your recipe.
I was inspired by the wonderful handmade, homemade holiday gifts we received from friends and relatives this year - granola, soup, pickled beets and thankfully, dill pickles - in their fun Mason jars (translucent blue Mason jars are cute for boy baby showers).
Fill it with soft and colorful baby basics that will help parents care for newborn baby right away with confidence and ease.
Start from top to bottom and include a cozy beanie style hat in soft jersey that will grow with baby.
Now add baby scratch mittens to protect baby from sharp nails and cold weather and a basic bodysuit in a comfortable cotton jersey.
Don't forget a few nursery essentials for bath time and meal time.
Flannel burp cloths and soft and absorbent terrycloth washcloths are a great way to start the collection of soft goodies for baby and families.
