Make a Week of Green Smoothies in 10 Minutes
Does your breakfast set the stage for good and healthy food choices throughout your day? Mine does and if I make a bad choice in the morning it seems to impact the rest of my day and sometimes my mood. For a year or so, I have been pretty consistently enjoying a green smoothie for breakfast every morning. It's a no-think option that's healthy, satisfying and keeps me filled until a mid-morning snack. Here's how I make a week of green smoothies in 10 minutes.
I spend 10 minutes on Sunday to prep a week's worth of green smoothies and splurge on Sunday brunch!
Here's what you need to make a week's worth of green smoothies in 10 minutes:
- Bunch kale
- 3 medium to large bananas
- 1/4 cup ginger
- 2.5 to 3 cups frozen blueberries
- 1.5 cups whole unsalted almonds
- 6 reusable freezer bags or storage containers
- cutting board
- chef's knife
- vegetable peeler
Here's how to make a week's worth of green smoothies in 10 minutes:
Start by seperating and washing your kale. Cut of an inch or two of stems. Don't cut off all the stems as it's good roughage for your smoothie.
Cut your kale into 2" pieces and set aside into 6 piles
Peal bananas and cut in half adding 1/2 of a banana to each of your six piles
Peal and cut ginger into slices and add to your piles
Add 1/4-1/2 cup of frozen blueberries to each pile
Add 1/4 cup of whole almonds to your piles
Now add the contents of each pile to a storage bag or container, seal and pop in the freezer. Now each morning you won't even have to think about what to have. Instead you will head to the freezer, pull out a bag, pop in your blender, add some ice, non-dairy milk, water if you'd like and blend.
Enjoy with a stray it makes it more fun!
