Apple Candle Holder Place Cards
Apple Candle Holder Place Cards
PLEASE ALWAYS BE PRESENT WHEN CANDLES ARE LIT TO AVOID FIRE DANGER.
Oh what fun it is to use natural elements for holiday decorating. I was inspired by all the apple votive candle holders I've seen in beautiful holiday centerpiece design on Pinterest.
I wanted to try this project for a place card idea I had for our Thanksgiving guests. This is a super easy and fast project. I even got to use my new hand lettering skills that I've been studying through classes and online.

Make Your Own Apple Candle Holder Place Cards
I paired my apple candle holder place cards with two Camelia leaf branches to create a centerpiece as well. I wrote 'Give Thanks' in chalk pen on two leaves to set the mood for a Thanksgiving feast!
Materials
- Pretty apples that work with your decor. Choose small, medium and large varieties or uniform sizes for guests.
- Drill
- 1.5" diameter spade drill bit
- Sturdy green leaves - I used Camelia leaves
- Chalk pen
- Floral wire
- Tea candles
- Lighter/matches
Instructions
Start by prepping your work station with a placemat to keep clean up to a minimum.
Insert your drill bit into your drill and slowly carve out a hole with depth of about .7" to accommodate your tea candle.
NOTE: Start very slowly with your drill for best results. This helps keep the edge of the peel in tact and makes it easy to drill. Believe me, I've tried the alternative! :)
Now hand letter your leaves with guests names.
Wrap a bit of floral wire around the stem nub of your leaf and insert the straight end into the top of your apple candle holder.
Enjoy!
