I love the old world Masters feel to this arrangement. I was fortunate to match it to my buffet artwork created by a dear friend as a wedding gift. I use that painting as inspiration for much of my dining room decor.

Instructions

Soak a piece of floral foam cut to your plastic bowl or container's size in water.

Place it in your plastic container and attach container to your candle stick or pillar candle base with adhesive floral tape. You can use any kind of tape you have, but it's best if it's narrow so that you can place your blooms and greenery into the foam most easily.

Begin inserting stems that have been trimmed of leaves and cut on an angle under water to retain moisture into the foam.

Start with larger scale blooms with the heftiest stems.

Fill in with lush greenery and lighter weight blooms.

For the best autumnal effect, choose monochromatic tones in deep reds, oranges and dark greenery.

Pro Tips

When you're cutting your floral foam, us a steak knife to cut as opposed to using scissors. The serrated edge of the knife cuts right through floral foam.

Pick up inexpensive floral foam and floral tape from your dollar store for pennies...or only a few dollars.

Don't splurge on florals, simply hit the park or take a nature walk to gather found branches and snip leafy bundles for your spray arrangement.

Add an extra custom touch when you spray paint wooden/metal pillar candle stands to coordinate with your autumn dining room, kitchen and home decor.

Remember that when you're setting your dining table for guests, keep centerpieces to below 10" so that guests can comfortably converse over the table. With that, use these arrangements on buffets, sideboards, entry halls, kitchen islands and anywhere you'd like to delight your friends and family!
