We all know the place for the best back to school supplies is Target! This season, I've stocked up on FriXion ColorSticks and FriXion Erasable Marker Pens to get organized AND share a little festive fun with my scholars. That's right! They're ERASABLE. No more creative stress for you or the kids. Make a list, keep it or change it!
I've created a couple of fun ideas to get us organized for a colorful back to school season. New pens are always a highlight for our family. We use them to label all kinds of school supplies from notebooks, binders, lunch boxes, clothing and now a personalized pen case.
We're using FriXion ColorSticks and FriXion Erasable Marker Pens to personalize this year's pen case with vibrant colors that are a snap to erase without damaging the paper or card stock. With a little adhesive, we've created a fun and useful box that should last all year.
One of my favorite elements of creating art is that we are all present in what we're doing. That is doubly true when coloring and drawing with pens that delight with color and texture. These silky smooth writing gel ink pens and markers are perfect for any kind of project. But when you have a child with perfectionist tendencies it can be hard to get started.

Back to School at Target
The Back to School area at Target is a blast! It's easy to find everything you need to personalize and enjoy your season. Target is the only place you'll find these excellent erasable FriXion pens, which are in both Back to School and writing supply aisles.
Back To School Made Beautiful!
I love the double duty that these erasable gel ink pens and markers do for our back to school season. We've created a couple of fun craft projects that I'm sharing below. But these pens aren't just for me to enjoy and hoard in my craft closet.
The kids are taking our new FriXion ColorSticks Erasable Gel Ink Pens and Erasable Marker Pens to school to use and share. I know their personalized pen case will be the envy of every classmate when they see how easily and perfectly these pens erase when needed.
DIY Pen Case
This little project could not be easier or more fun. We used packaged name cards, but you could use hand-lined card stock that would work great too.
With our FriXion ColorSticks Erasable Gel Ink Pens and Marker Pens we wrote our names and let me tell you it took a couple of times to get it just write. The pens erased beautifully without a mark on our paper.
I used a standard glue stick to secure the name tag to the pen box. Finally, we filled the pen case with our complete sets of erasable gel ink pens and markers to take to school on the first day.
DIY Pennant Cupcake Toppers
My DIY pennant cupcake toppers are super easy to make and perfect for a special first day of school celebration. With my erasable gel ink pens and markers, I hand-lettered these little card stock pennants.
I'm new to hand-lettering (as I'm sure you'll note!), but that didn't stop me from trying my hand at some pretty script to celebrate my little scholars.
I cut two each of the paper elements for my pennants, which included:
- 2" triangles
- 1/4" x 1 1/4" rectangles
- 1/8" x 1/4" tiny rectangles
I then glue them all together using the back larger rectangle to cover the toothpick that I glued to the back of my pennant.
Finally, I hand-lettered and color coordinated my pennants for each of my back to school snack party guests!

Back to school can be nerve wracking for some and that's why I'm supporting Stomp Out Bullying and their October 2nd Blue Shirt Day. The STOMP Out Bullying organization is dedicated to changing the culture for all students.
In our diverse world, STOMP Out Bullying promotes civility, inclusion and equality. It teaches effective solutions on how to respond to all forms of bullying, as well as educating kids and teens in school and online.
