We have a fun classroom party planned for the kids this year and I'm excited about our photo booth backdrop. My DIY last minute valentine's day photo backdrop cost me $5 and only took 15 minutes. This is the kind of craft that's great to do yourself and easy to delegate to your party committee. The best thing about this photo backdrop design is that you can use the same formula for literally EVERY holiday.
How cute would this photo backdrop be with Shamrocks, Flowers (dollar store stems here for sure!), American Flags and Stars and of course, every adorable turkey and holly berry cluster you can find. I LOVE this project!
Another reason this DIY dollar store valentine's day photo backdrop is a proven winner is the cost. At $5 and durable enough to be stored away for the next year, it's a great price. You could even use an old sheet or large stained tablecloth from your linen closet to save even more.
If you decide to reuse the base, you can gently peel off the hearts and attach your next holiday flair in the same place in case you accidentally rip the plastic. Easy upcycling!
Here's what you need for your DIY Dollar Store Valentine's Day Photo Backdrop
- White plastic tablecloth - 54"x108"
- Pink or red plastic tablecloth - 54"x108" (optional)
- 4" or 5" sparkle hearts
- Double sided tape or regular tape to make tape rings
Here's what you need to do for your DIY Dollar Store Valentine's Day Photo Backdrop
Lay out your table cloth on a flat surface or the floor. If you'd like to get some of the creases out, lay your cloth over a shower curtain for a couple of days to work out the creases.
Optional: If you decide to use a pink or red table cloth for a nice highlight, cut a couple of feet from your colored tablecloth and glue it to the bottom of your white base.
Place your sparkle hearts in the pattern you'd like - scatter, vertical lines, arches, etc - and begin glueing. Put the glue on the heart and place your hearts on the tablecloth.
