DIY At-Home Physical Education Class during Distance Learning
DIY At-Home Physical Education Class during Distance Learning
Now more than ever, kids of all ages could use the emotional and physical boost that comes from endorphins released during exercise.
Endorphins are chemicals that are produced in our bodies to cope with pain and stress.
If you know the great feeling you get after a workout or jog, you're feeling your endorphins, often called a 'runner's high'.
And with the amount of stress we've all been under, it's a gift that a simple and free solution is exercise.
I'm sharing ideas and resources for a DIY at-home physical education class during distance learning.
Benefits of Exercise
All those good feelings from a runner's high aren't the only reason to plan for physical activity for your students during distance learning.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are many benefits to exercise and activity, including:
- Lower risk of anxiety and depression
- Promotes healthy sleep
- Improves brain function
- Manages body weight
- Strengthens bones and muscles
- Lowers disease risk
- Produces mood enhancing chemicals

Feel free to collaborate with your students on how, when and where you'll enjoy activity.
