Felt Apple Hair Clip
Felt Apple Hair Clip
Back to school is here and we're crafting up a bushel of fun with these felt apple hair clips! I've improvised on my shamrock felt hair clip design and love the sweet leaves and stem that make this hair clip project a special one.
Pull together some items for your craft scrap bin and get to work harvesting some fun with the kids. You can try all kinds of fall fruit and vegetables for this project: pears, carrots, kale?!
Here's what you need for your felt apple hair clip and where to find the materials.
- 7 circles of red felt about 1-1.5" in diameter
- 1 larger circle of red felt with a large enough diameter to cover your clip
- hair clip
- small green felt to cut leaves
- small brown felt to cut a stem
- scissors
- hot glue
- glue gun
Here's how to make your felt apple hair clip
Start by plugging in your glue gun and laying out your materials.
Now you'll create the body of the apple by dabbing a touch of glue in the center of each of your 7 red felt circles.
Fold the circle in half and then dab another bit of glue at the edge of your folded circle and secure the sides. Check out this great felt flower video tutorial to see what I mean. Go to minute 2:02 for instructions.
Now glue each of your 7 folded circles onto the large red circle base that you'll attach to your clip.
Glue in your leaves and stem.
Turn the apple over and glue your clip to the base of your apple.
Et voila! C'est tout!
