Tissue Paper Candy Rose Materials
You don't need much to make these pretty and tasty little tissue paper candy roses for Valentine's Day, anniversary celebrations, May Day, Mother's Day or any day!
To make your own candy roses, gather the following:
- Tissue paper in pink and red - I used tissue paper I bought at the drug store, which was 20"x20". I wished I had used larger 20"x30" for a more robust bloom, so please bear this in mind.
- It's VERY easy to simply make longer tissue paper strips by gluing or folding your tissue paper together.
- Candy - use all your favorites! Lindor Truffles, Ferrero Roche hazelnut candies, Hershey Kisses!
- Paper straws or even cake pop sticks, popsicle sticks, etc.
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- A pretty container to add your candy roses to or a piece of craft paper to bundle them into a bouquet for gifting.
How To Easily Make Tissue Paper Candy Rose For Valentines Day
Start by creating long strips of tissue paper with your scissors approximately 5" wide.
Next, begin by creating one candy rose.
Take your piece of candy and your paper straw to combine.
Dot a little bit of glue on the bottom of your candy and place on one end of the straw.
You'll need to hold the straw to the candy for 5-10 seconds until the glue dries.
Next, take a strip of tissue paper and fold it in half lengthwise.
Now, fold down the top right corner until it meets the bottom of your folded tissue paper strip.
You will end up with a little point of tissue paper.
Hot glue this point to your straw directly below the candy.
Hold the tissue paper for a few seconds until it is nicely secured.
Now you're ready to start folding and rolling your tissue paper around your straw.
Refer to my video above on how to effectively fold to get the pretty tea rose effect.
You may want to dab a couple of glue dots onto your straw as you're working your tissue paper around.
When you're out of tissue paper, glue the last corner.
Add a leaf or two and set your tissue paper candy rose aside.
Begin work on your next until you have a lovely and sweet bouquet to share with your sweetie!
