Take a Treat Halloween Night Printable

Take a Treat Halloween Night Printable

As Halloween night approaches I face my annual struggle of whether to stay home and hand out candy to the ridiculously adorable trick-or-treaters, or join my own little goblins for a haunt around the neighborhood asking for free candy.

This year, I'm hitting the streets! I've got my back up plan in place and hope that you might want to use my Take-a-Treat Halloween night printable too.

I had lots of fun designing this little porch vignette to welcome trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. I started by designing a festive black and white graphic in PicMonkey.

Since I love Halloween, but opt for spooky not scary, I thought a witch theme would be fun. I can picture little trick-or-treaters being excited about coming upon this cauldron, kitty and spooky spider webs.

Will they dare take a treat? I hope so!

From the PicMonkey website, I opened up an 8.5"x11" blank page template, selected a black canvas background and then added Halloween elements from their stock graphics. I used Meddon font for a handmade, witch-written look.

Next, I printed out my page. But how to get trick-or-treaters attention? I've used a chalk board A-frame sign as a base to post my take a treat printable. I used this sign at my Satsuma kids shop over and over to advertise events, sales and fun.

It's nice to be able to use it for the same purpose!

With four 2 inch pieces of decorative washi tape, I affixed my printable to my A-frame sign.

And no dare is complete without the witch's cauldron so noted in the printable! I've filled my black cauldron that I got at the dollar store many years ago with seasonal candies for kiddos young and hold to take on October 31st. If they last, that is!

I've used this witch's cauldron over and over through the years. First as a candy carrier for my little witch, then a candy carrier for the years I've dressed up for Halloween as a witch.

I repurposed a plant stand from the back porch that housed geraniums all spring and summer. I love the height and size of this little stand that perfectly holds the witches cauldron.

Next, I added my witch's black cat, her hat, some spooky spider webs and miniature plastic spiders to complete the look. I picked up the kitty cat and witch's hat at my dollar store and added a little extra ear height with some black sparkly stems I found their too.

The black cat's ears were just little numbs before I glued the black sparkle stems to the top.

This Halloween night display is sure to delight our visitors and I hope they feel encouraged to take a treat or two - and leave plenty for others as well!

To make your own printable, simply click on the link below, download the file and print on 8.5" x 11" white card stock or printer paper.

If your printer is finicky like mine, you may end up with a touch of a white border, which can be a nice contrast. If, however, you prefer an all black background, use a a paper cutter or pair of scissors to trim.

To set up your welcome cauldron, use a few pieces of decorative washi tape. If you're concerned about the durability over the course of Halloween night, use a base tape of heavy Scotch or masking tape and cover with washi tape.
