10 Best Ways to Celebrate New Years Eve with Kids
We'll be celebrating new year's eve with friends this year and I'm so excited to make the last year of 2016 a year to remember and laugh about all through 2017. 2016 was the year of the Bear Duck for this family and I'm excited to see what 2017 will hold.
I love creating these festive moments for us and the kids and here are some tried and tested ways to make new year's eve feel special, but not overwhelm the budget, energy reserve or nerves.
I would love to see how your ring in the new year! Tag #satsumasmiles on Instagram and we'll share the love. And we'd love to see you on our Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook - follow along for the fun!
Time Travel
Ring in the new year with the East Coast. For those of us who prefer the comfort of our bed in the 10s, not 1s, ring in the new year with New York City. Watch the ball drop and let the kids stay up as late as they want, but save yourself and stop trying to prove anything to anyone! For those of you on the East Coast, why not ring in the new year with Old London Towne? You know they throw a great party!
Go Glam
I'm sure you've all be putting on your finery for holiday parties and meals, but here's your chance to get gussied up party style! Wear as much metalic and sparkles as possible and don't be afraid to wear those high heals, dangly earrings and top it all off with some hair flair.
If your party guests are game, try a theme night of dress up too!
Accessorize
Noise makers are a must! Try these cute DIY noise makers or pick up store bought at the dollar store.
Try these festive glittery silver star headbands or any variation of these!
Indulge
Create a kid-festive menu - kiddie cocktails with fresh fruit in a champagne flute. Try fondue - cheese and chocolate - to get the kids dipping their favorite fruit into the chocolate and crusty bread into the cheese.
Reflect and Project
Set Goals - forget resolutions or trying to change bad habits. Help the kids focus on creating one attainable and satisfying goal about creating community and connection.
Make a Top 10 list - we do this as a family every year and it's a blast to relive the highlights.
Party!
Throw a dance party with these top Kid Bop Hits of 2016. All of these titles have been reviewed as age appropriate. Download the Pandora Radio app on your smartphone and set up a Kids Rock Station to blast through your portable speaker.
Game On!
Try a few of these fun new years eve party games for kids from A Joy Filled Life. I love how she has a game ready for the gang every hour!
