DIY Tutu Easter Basket

If you have a little dancer at home, this DIY tutu Easter basket project is for you. It only took me 10 minutes to cut and thread my pieces of tulle through the holes in my woven metal Easter basket.

This little DIY tutu Easter basket will delight at the Easter egg hunt and can be repurposed to store all kinds of treasures this spring. Reuse the tulle and create one of a kind hair accessories using my tutorial here.

Here's what you need for your DIY Tutu Easter Basket

  • 50 strips of tulle - your length will vary, but you'll need strips of tulle twice as long as your basket is high. For example, my basket is 5" high so my strips are 10" long.
  • Basket - I found a great 6" diameter wire mesh basket at the dollar store for $1
  • Scissors
  • Easter treats - I've included links to the items you see here as well as photos below. These goodies can be found at Satsuma Kids Shop in Seattle and online here: plush pink star wand, Lulu tutu bunny from Jellycat, sparkle crown, leg warmers, and our bunny craft from The Craft Story.

Here's how you make your DIY Tutu Easter Basket

Start by folding your tulle strip in half.

Take the folded end and lace it through the hole in your basket.

Now take the two ends of your tulle and pull them through the hold that your fold makes.

Pull tightly and you're done!
