House Warming Scented Fire Starters

House Warming Scented Fire Starters

Update: A kind reader shared that the pinecones can make a 'pop' in the fire and that friends should be aware and not alarmed. Enjoy and be safe!

This year has brought a lot of change and that includes a change of address for many. I'm sharing my house warming scented fire starters to welcome new neighbors and send with old friends.

Courtesy demands we welcome new neighbors with open arms. This inclusive tradition thankfully often results in new relationships and good friends. What a gift are neighbors!

Wood is a traditional house warming gift that signifies stability for new homeowners and is also fuel to warm a cozy home.

My house warming scented fire starters are a delicious way to share this tradition.

With just a few items you likely have on hand a couple of other materials, you'll have your house warming scented fire starters within an afternoon.

I've created a sweet little welcome gift tag to tie up with your fire starters.

Be sure to make extra to use in your own fireplace too!

Welcome to the Neighborhood Gift Tags

I made three versions of a gift tag for your to bundle with your scented fire starter house warming gift.

I recommend you add a few scented fire starters to a mason jar that's topped with a festive piece of fabric.

Tie a ribbon with an attached gift tag from the selection below and share your goodwill!

I printed these onto 60 pound kraft paper. It's heavier weight than copy paper and lighter than card stock.

I really love the texture, weight and versatility of letter size kraft paper. It can be run easily through a desktop printer and adds the nicest warmth to any gift tag.

I added a Season's Greeting gift tag too to extend this gift for delighting friends and family!

Make your Own Scented Fire Starters

Begin by placing your cupcake liners in your cupcake pan.

Next, nestle any combination of natural elements into the cupcake liners.

Now begin melting your soy wax flakes until liquid.

Add 10-20 drops of essential oil to the melted wax. Drop and stir to reach your desired scent intensity.

Pro Tip: You can create lighter and more intense fragrance fire starters by pouring 1/2 of your melted wax into 6 cupcake liners and adding more essential oil to the remaining wax. Mix this and then pour our the rest of your melted wax.

If your scented fire starter gift recipient doesn't have a wood burning fireplace, suggest burning this in a bonfire or outdoor setting.

Alternatively, these are lovely burned in a tall sided clear glass vessel for both safety and enjoyment.
