Did you sign up to host your kiddo's valentine's day party this year? Me too! If you need a few fun and easy ideas to give the kids one of their best school parties yet, follow along for these simple steps!
Classroom parties need to be...
- Easy to execute
- Fun!
- Inexpensive
- Memorable
- The source of a gift for Mom and Dad
- If not exactly clean, not super messy either
I have some ideas below that check all of these boxes. Let me know what you try and please pin and share as you like. Party on!
Photo Backdrop
One of my most successful additions to my birthday party hosting at Satsuma Kids Shop in Seattle has been my photo booth portion of the party.
I have a fun purple fabric backdrop that I set up and hand out all the most fun accessories for the kids to ham it up in front of the camera.

For the photographs, if you have a volunteer to take pictures with their camera, great, but don't despair if you don't. Enlist a parent to take photos with their iPhone and then share the folder of the kids in the photo booth with the teacher who can email the link that afternoon.
Our class parents are genius and have set up a grade level photo sharing site. Try a photo sharing site like Smugmug or Shutterfly Share Sites.

Snacks
Keep snacks simple and delicious. These valentine Rice Krispies pops are the kind of thing I'm talking about.
All ingredients are easy and inexpensive and the cute paper straws can be found at your dollar store. Keep the messes at bay with a container of handi-wipes for this party.
And, if you're doing a healthy snack as well, steer clear of staining strawberries and dips for veggies. Go simple and tasty!
Let the craft be something that the kiddos can use to give to Mom and Dad. Decorate a frame with puffy stickers and paint. Try this flowering tree valentine for little kids.
Let them trace, cut the hearts, write a note and finally staple the base of the tree trunk so it can stand on its own. Find a great assortment of Valentines craft ideas when you shop Oriental Trading Valentine's Day ideas.
And remember whatever craft you choose can serve as a party favor so the kids leave with a fun reminder of the party.
Some of the best memories are made during classroom party games. I have tried lots of different games in the classroom and my kids always seem to enjoy the simple ones that involve activity.
