Chex Mix Puppy Chow Recipe

This is a recipe for Chex Mix Puppy Chow, but it's more than that. This recipe is a fun way to welcome your little puppies into the kitchen for a fast and easy party snack that will spread a little cheer during the holiday or any time of year. To create your own special Puppy Chow, you'll want to gather a few gift wrapping essentials to make your snack packs extra sweet. Gather the following supplies to make your puppy chow gift packages:

  • Clear baggies
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Gift tag paper punch or hand cut gift tags
  • Small hole punch
  • Washable ink pad or washable marker - brown, tan or gray
  • Ink pen

How to make your own Chex Mix Puppy Chow Gift Packs

Start by whipping up the Chex mix puppy chow shown below then assemble your gift packs.

Now make your gift tags using kids finger prints and an ink pen for puppy face details like those seen here.

Let the kids have a blast drawing on themselves, each other or your finger tips then press into the gift tag. Add ears, nose, mouth and puppy eyes on your gift tags and label as necessary. We called ours 'PB + choco Puppy Chow'. PB for peanut butter.

Punch a small hole for stringing at the top of your gift tag.

Now add a cup of puppy chow to each bag, thread your tags and tie off each puppy chow gift pack for your friends.

Deliver door to door to neighbors or bring a bag to share at the next school party.

Try this kitchen craft with your scout or girl scout troop or Sunday school class next session.

Above all, enjoy this fun active time with your sweet little puppies!
