Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids
Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids
If you've been reading my recent posts you know I'm going a little nutty for Valentine's Day. I love the excuse to cut paper hearts, string them places and give the family extra kisses.
Now I've settled on my Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids that will have them asking for seconds of their favorites.
This little idea is totally self explanatory, but I wanted to share how easy it is to make lasting memories for the kiddos without too much effort when early mornings have you racing to get out the door.
Plan your Valentine's Day Lunch for Kids with basics in mind and create excitement by cutting each item on the kids lunch menu into hearts.
Valentine's Day Heart Sandwich Pairings
Here are some ideas to get you prepped for lunchtime on Valentine's Day or the day before during school hours.
- Ham and cheese
- Turkey and cheese
- Nut butter and jelly
- Nut butter and Nutella or chocolate spread
- Sliced apples or pears
- Cucumber and large diameter carrots
- Tortilla spread with beans and cheese
Make Your Own Valentine's Day Kids Lunch
You'll need the deli-style ingredients above plus one or a few heart shaped cookie cutters.
If you don't have a heart shaped cookie cutter, use a small paring knife to make your cuts.
To make your open-faced heart sandwiches, start by pulling all your ingredients together and matching up your delicious pairings.
Next, use your various sized cookie cutters to create sandwich lunch layers.
Layer your ingredients and place on a festive tray to serve.
That's it! Serve your sandwiches with some cold mild or ice water and maybe finish with a sweet treat.
Enjoy!
