Grandma's Molasses Cookie Recipe

By far the family's favorite cookies! Let them become yours.
Ingredients
- 3/4 c Crisco vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 c white sugar, divided 1 c and 1/2 c for rolling dough balls
- 1/4 c molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 c white flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix ingredients 1-4 in a stand mixer
- Add the rest of the ingredients
- Grandma's note: you may have to hand mix to finish
- Roll 1" balls of dough in sugar (1/2 cup)
- Bake 8-10 minutes until cookies have puffed and cracked all over the top
