Just like spring cleaning, a refresh to meal planning is always a nice way to kick off the season.
I'm sharing my springtime seven day meal planning and shopping list printable to make it easy to plan carefree meals for your family of any size.
Meal Planning as a Relaxing Ritual
I love routine. And I've made meal planning an enjoyable part of my weekend events. I am using 'event' loosely here!
Before I carved out the time to thoughtfully review my week and my family's evening activities, I used to find meal planning a chore.
Now, I set aside an hour on Saturday or Sunday and make the time spent meal planning enjoyable. Here's how I create a little peace in the process:
- Light a candle
- Make a cup of coffee or herbal tea
- Sit on the couch where I'm most comfortable
- Have all my 'tools' at hand including my printable meal plan and shopping list, reading glasses, planner, computer for schedule review and recipe research, and my favorite pen

Weekly Meal Planning and Shopping List Printable
I recommend printing a couple of these to have on hand for two to three weeks out.
You don't need to plan that far in advance, but fold them in half and tuck them in your planner or file folder for future use.
At various times, I have planned out meals nearly a month out, but have found that I like to have more flexibility in our schedules.
When I meal plan just seven days out I can take advantage of farmer's market finds in the spring and summer, take advantage of the grocery promotions and use my cravings as a guide too!

How To Meal Plan for a Week
Once you're comfortably situated with your coffee, candle and other supplies, it's time for the fun.
Open up your computer or device to Pinterest or your favorite recipe website for some inspiration.
Next, review your calendar and evening commitments to see what days, if any, you'll need a more 'on the go' type dinner.
Try these easy, busy night dinners that I serve for my family.
Hamburger Roll-ups - Combine Italian seasoned ground beef with shredded cheese and roll up in a tortilla. Spray a cookie sheet, lay out the roll-ups and spray the tops. Bake for 20-25 minutes in a 375 degree F oven until lightly crispy on the edges. Serve with a veggie, naturally!
Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan - Cook chicken tenders as directed in air fryer. Transfer to a broiler safe pan and top with marinara and Parmesan cheese. Broil for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Serve with spaghetti or on a hoagie roll.
Stovetop Mac and Cheese - Satisfy a mac and cheese craving with this all-natural fast and easy stovetop version. Add edamame or peas in the last 3 minutes of boiled pasta for extra nutrients!
Fill in busy nights first and then have fun searching for new recipes that look yummy!
Try to make one new recipe each week to test meals that your family enjoys and add some spice to the rotation.
Once you have your week's meal plan completed, make your shopping list on the other side of your meal planning printable.
I've grouped like food types by typical grocery store sections for ease.
Shop the perimeter of the store for best nutritional options and move into the aisles for pantry staples.
I hope you find this meal planning method helpful!
