DIY Shell Place Cards
DIY Shell Place Cards
Do you love the sea? Me too! And whether or not you're landlocked, adding seashore elements to your decor and parties is always a good idea. I wanted to share my DIY shell place cards project to add a bit of the sea to your next gathering or any day.
These also make great mini photo displays! Think summer beach vacation prints.
I've hosted a number of Moana themed birthday parties at Satsuma Kids Shop and these have been that extra special touch that parents and kids alike have enjoyed. Each little guest has a wave and shell at their craft and treat station.
It's so easy to create custom moments that guests won't forget!
DIY Shell Place Cards Materials
- Large sea shells - by all means do what you can to forage for these at the beach and enjoy yourself. If you're like me and need a little supply help, find these at your favorite craft store or at Amazon.
- Mini clothes pins - these little guys are easy to find at craft stores, but here they are on Amazon. These are wonderful for all kinds of projects. They make ADORABLE baby shower gift toppers. And if you're planning a baby shower, here's my FREE clothes pin game printable.
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Blue paper
- Pen(s)
- Scissors
- Optional: small pebble to stabilize any flat shape shells as seen in photos.
Here's how to make your own Shell Place Cards
Start by plugging in your glue gun.
While you're waiting for the glue to heat up, cut out your waves in paper and write your guests' names.
When your glue gun is warm, attach the mini clothes pins to the back of your shells making sure that the 'teeth' end is pointing up so you can insert your waves.
Hold clothes pins to let glue start to firm up and set aside to dry fully.
When your shell place cards are fully dry add your paper waves and prepare to welcome guests to your seaside inspired soiree.
Enjoy!
