How To Make a May Day Cone with Recycled Fabric

Start by printing out my May Day cone template by downloading the PDF file and printing onto card stock of any color.

Next, cut out the template along the solid black line.

Use a glue stick to cover the paper template on the side that does NOT have the dashed line.

Place the paper cone template onto the wrong side of your fabric and press into place. Work to remove any air bubbles or ripples. A ruler works great for this!

Run glue along the folding tab (face up) and fold your fabric over and onto the tab.

Trim your tab fabric as needed.

Now, use your scissors to cut out the fabric covered template. If possible, use scalloped pinking shears for a lovely effect!

Fold your tab in to give it a strong folding line.

When the glue has set, roll your fabric-covered template into a cone and HOT glue the tab to the cone's exterior.

When the tab has set, use your hold punch to create two holes on either side of the top of the cone about 1" down from the top.

Thread your ribbon through your holes and tie a knot to secure on the inside or outside of the cone, whichever you prefer.
