Warm weather calls for tasty room temperature food that refreshes!
I'm sharing a fast and easy to make ham and cheddar quiche that features home grown herbs.
I'm a back deck container gardener with a medium green thumb. I've found instant success with a little batch of flavorful herbs to spice up lots of summertime dishes.
My shallow herb garden features dill, chives, thyme, rosemary and mint. These five easy to grow herbs offer so much flavor variation for any recipe.
I add mint to lemon water. I boil a cup of water with a cup of sugar and add 6 rosemary sprigs for a yummy simple syrup for summer happy hour entertaining.
I chopped dill and chives and mixed into my easy ham and cheese quiche recipe that you'll find below.
Ham, Cheddar and Garden Herbs Quiche Best Bets
This quiche recipes comes together in just minutes, but does require a little bit of planning and preparation.
The two main elements are allowing the refrigerated pie crust to come to room temperature and then pre-baking the pie crust for 10 minutes in a 375 degree Farenheit oven.
With those little tasks out of the way you'll be able to pop your quiche in the oven for a solid 35 minutes and enjoy when it's ready.
While the crust is pre-baking, I combine all of the egg mixture ingredients in a deep mixing bowl.
When the pie crust is done I add the egg mixture and send my quiche into the oven.
As I make a real effort to clean my kitchen tools as I go, I wash up my mixing bowl and set that to dry. This way I can simply cut and eat my quiche when it's done and not think about clean up!
And my best recommendation for a fast and easy quiche dish is to use chopped ham available at most grocery stores. This handy little prepped ingredient makes this recipe a favorite!
